Steps
In a small saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil.
Add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt to the boiling liquid.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are cooked and creamy.
Stir in the maple syrup and ground cinnamon until well combined.
Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute.
Serve in a bowl, topped with fresh fruits and nuts if desired.
