Steps

1. Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. 2. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper. 3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. 4. Add the steak to the skillet and sear without moving for about 4 minutes until a crust forms. 5. Flip the steak and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature of about 130°F / 54°C). 6. During the last minute of cooking, add butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. 7. Baste the steak with the melted herb butter for added flavor. 8. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
